Just a quick little blog to tell everyone Happy New Year's Eve  =)    Stay safe, keep warm, be merry!  Thanks to all of my fans and followers.  I hope to share a lot of new things with you all in the new year!

I couldn't resist any longer.  I picked up my needles last night to work on a post-Christmas order.  Afterwards, I'm going to start on new, never-done-before-by-me, items and I'm a bit more excited than one should be  ;)  I will, at the very least, have them posted on my FaceBook page upon completion.  Wish me luck on quick completions!  =)

. . . . New Year's Eve!!  I think it has to do with the fireworks, and maybe the Christmas lights that might still be up?  Or, maybe it's because I don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn the next morning to do inventory.  In any case, I'm really excited to be celebrating New Year's this year.  =)

In a couple more days things will be calming back down in my little world and I'll be picking up my needles again.  Which is a good thing because I have so many things I want to make!  Taking this time off has only added to the projects and patterns that I want to work on.  But, time will not allow it for another short bit.  There is still too much "holiday-ness" to afford time for anything else.  :)

Christmas day is almost over.  I made good on my promise to take the weekend off from knitting (but I'm itching to get going again).  We had a lovely (lazy) day at home, listening to the storm outside (heavy winds, off and on rain).  Our fur-babies have been extra cuddly, I think they must have liked their presents :)
From the family at The House to your family, we hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas.  Stay safe, stay warm, feel the love

It was a beautiful day.  It was supposed to rain all day, but the sun came out right before we took off to meet with family.  It was cold!  But, not raining :)    We had a great visit with (almost all of) the family and then headed off to the candlelight service at our church.  It was beautiful.  Now we're home and I am ready to snuggle up in the bed with my little Charley girl (she is currently cuddled up next to me sleeping right now).  I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas Eve.

I should have been in bed hours ago!  But, I was finishing up a Christmas present.  The thing is, I've made up a bunch of different items for this someone.  I had it all planned out, it was going to be a set - a cowl and matching mitts.  But, I guess I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, because upon completing each item, I felt like I could improve on it.  So, there are a fair few pairs of mitts floating around that have nothing wrong with them other than my concern that they aren't long enough, short enough, small enough, big enough, etc.  I'm sure we all know what it's like to either make or purchase a gift for someone new and have that worry of "will they like it?"  So, I was going to make up one more pair (pattern 03) tonight before I headed off to bed (or at least get a pair started).  When I went for the yarn, I couldn't find it.  I had just used it and know there is plenty left for a couple of pairs of gloves.  Plus, I find it very odd that this 1 skein of yarn is not with the others (?).  So, I have taken it as a sign to give her the first pair that I made.  It's not like there's anything wrong with them - if they were a different color I'd want to keep them for myself.  Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I guess I should consider getting some sleep . . . .

Merry Christmas Adam, everyone!  I hope this weekend brings everyone much needed peace and happiness.  Safe travels to everyone that will be traveling (has been traveling).
We will be spending this Christmas Weekend starting new family traditions!

Christmas is, literally, around the corner.  It is Thursday afternoon, tomorrow people will find it hard to concentrate at work, daydreaming about what this weekend will hold.  For us, we have a family member that has traveled more than 3 thousand miles (by plane, but still) to be with all of us this week.  We also got to visit with a dear friend that had an extensive layover on her way to be with her family, a flight covering more than 3,200 miles and more than 1,258 miles driving.  What a trip.  After dropping her back off at the airport, we traveled a bit further to visit some friends for the weekend.  What a great time.  Staying up until 6am, waking up early to spend the day together.  It was a lot of fun.  The other night, the family (well, siblings and SO's) got together to spend the evening walking through Christmas lights.  It was beautiful.  Just cold enough to make you appreciate that hot chocolate  :)
Guess it's time to wrangle up those projects and get them finished!  Happy Thursday

It's the holidays, and for most people that means lots of family face time.  Tonight, a bunch of us are going to see the Christmas Lights (about 6 adults and 1 toddler).  I'm hoping to get some photos this year *fingers crossed.  I'm also really hoping that the weather holds up for us.  It seems a bit warmer than it was this time last year, so here's hoping  :)
On the knitting front - I've added a bunch of new patterns to my "to do" list and can't wait to get around to playing with them!  Also, I've added a few things to my FaceBook Page's photo albums.  "Prototypes Are Fun" has a new item or two, as well as the "Non-Children Items" album.
